Loading... Please wait...Potassium is an extremely important mineral involved in several functions of the body. It helps maintain water balance and distribution, pH balance, muscle and nerve cell function, heart function, and kidney and adrenal function in the body. It helps control activity of the heart muscle.
Potassium is also needed for the conversion of blood sugar into its stored form known as glycogen. Low potassium could result in decreased levels of stored glycogen, possibly causing fatigue or muscle weakness.
The main reasons supplemental potassium is recommended are in cases of potassium depletion (deficiency) and blood pressure maintenance. If the diet alone does not fulfill one's potassium requirements, supplementation is generally advised for good health.
Directions: Take one tablet daily with a meal (or as recommended by your health care professional).
